1026 Fifth Avenue

One of two neighboring mansions by Goldsmith & Van Vleck, 1026 Fifth Avenue was designed as a speculative house in 1903 for developer Ben Williams.  A handsome essay in French Beaux Arts, it is now part of the Marymount School.

Goldsmith & Van Vleck were a little-known and short-lived architectural firm whose work was highly accomplished; one of their most charming buildings in the Queen Copper Inn in Bisbee, AZ.
