576 Fifth Avenue, The Howard Building

Although the Howard Building at 576 Fifth Avenue is missing its original street-level columns and topmost cornice, it is still a handsome survivor from the district’s Edwardian days.  

575 Fifth Avenue

575 Fifth Avenue is a graceless PoMo lump.  Recent storefront changes actually improve the façade by somewhat lightening the overall tonnage of puce granite.

564-568 Fifth Avenue, Finchley’s Castle

A wonderful and nearly intact bit of Tudor Revival, 564-568 Fifth Avenue was designed by the author and artist Beverly S. King as “Finchley’s Castle” for the haberdasher Edwin L.
